Ornos Beach

Ornos beach is one of Mykonos Island’s most touristic and well organized beaches only 2.5 km away from Chora!

Located in the southwest of Mykonos, visitors can get to Ornos beach by catching a regular bus from Mykonos town (every hour from Fabrica bus station).

It’s the closest good beach on walking distance from the town. It goes all the way from one side of the island (in Ornos, out of the wind) to the windy bay and beach at Korfos at the other side (meaning windy when the northern wind is blowing).

Visitors can find numerous wonderful beach front restaurants, where they serve the best dishes on the island. There are enough places to have a really good coffee or a drink, enough places for a good lunch or dinner.

Furthermore there are some supermarkets, a bakery, a pharmacy and a couple of tourist shops. There is also a variety of hotels, apartments, studios and luxury villas that are being offered for rent on and around the beach.

Ornos Beach is a bit up market and with some style. The beach of Ornos is good, large and sandy, the sea water is clear, and the beach comes with parasols and sunbeds that are for rent.

The southern part of Ornos beach is perfectly suitable for families with small children, because the sea is shallow and the bottom is sandy, so it is easy to get into the water. Because it is so safe you will notice also many yachts to throw out there anchor in this protected Bay.

Ornos beach is a good option for those who want to stay at a beach area yet don’t want an accommodation too far from Mykonos Town.

This beach is also one of the two starting points (next to Platis Gialos) for the small wooden boats that visit the chain of beaches in the south of the island.
