Ftelia beach

A tranquil bay, also known as windsurfers paradise!

Ftelia beach is a very tranquil beach spot, known also as windsurfers paradise!

Located 7 kilometers in the North-east of Mykonos Town and you can get to Ftelia beach only by car, motorbike or taxi. The beach is approximately 3km before Ano Mera village (on your left if you drive from Chora) and there are few street signs to follow in order to get there. Unfortunately no public transportation goes there.

Since this beach faces the north, it is affected much by the strong summer northern winds, making it ideal for wind surfing, but not for swimming or sunbathing.

Ftelia is an isolated, very tranquil place and even during July and August is not very crowded, because it is often quite windy and also dusty. It has a fine sandy beach for those that prefer a more rugged environment to the soft south coast.

The beach facilitates a couple of bar-restaurants nearby with various snacks and drinks. The hills that surround the beach are mostly bare and the natural landscape gives you the feeling of total freedom. You can also find various accommodation in the area, from economical apartments to luxury villas.

The beach is also well known for the famous neolithic settlement found there believed that is the tomb of ancient Iliad hero Ajax the Locrian
