More recognition for the beautiful island of Mykonos as the influential Conde Nast Readers Awards has voted Mykonos as one of the best islands in Europe for 2020!
Last week, the major publication Condé Nast Traveler released the results of their 2020 Reader’s Choice Awards Survey — and naturally, Greece dominated the category of “Europe’s Best Islands.”
Over 700,000 travelers voted online in the 33rd Readers’ Choice Awards, sharing their Top Islands in six regions, including Europe. Conde Nast tourism mavens were asked to vote for “places that they love and would return to – along with their favorite means of getting there.”
Out of the top 35 World’s Best Islands, Greece held four spots — Folegandros, Zakynthos, Crete, and Mykonos! These islands represent distinctly different regions of Greece, with a stunning natural beauty all their own, along with iconic island landscapes.
Mykonos has a special place in the hearts of Conde Nast readers. Last year, it was nominated with 3rd place and the year before with 1st place for the “Best island in the World”!
Mykonos, with a resounding resonance to the readers, was also included for 7 consecutive years (2005-2012) by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler magazine as the Best European Island of the Year and again for good reason!

In a year when exploring the world has seemed so out of reach for many, the Readers’ Choice Awards are a very timely reminder of the wider world out there, and an opportunity to “celebrate and support the travel industry, shine a spotlight on new places and revisit familiar ones with a fresh eye.
